From that project, a new research question arose, asking to explore the ongoing adaptation and expected change as far as officers withcommandresponsibilities wereconcerned.Itissomewhatoddthattermslike leaderandleadershipwereneverusedbyCaforio(aretiredGeneral!)inthevarious versionsoftheresearchprojectproposals,tonametheverynatureoftheobject,that isadaptationandchangeinleadershipactionandbehavioursunderthepressureof theextremelyvariousanddemandingasymmetricwarfareoperations.Toacertain extent,command isatruemilitaryword,muchmorethanleadership,maybeinhis viewitseemedtorefermainlytoabusinessenvironment.
