The articles in the Volume classify in four subtitles as follows: labor process debates, current social policy issues, industrial relations discourses, and current behavioral approaches in working life. Some of the papers are based on empirical researches, others are theoretical. The studies of the first part of the book which is titled “labor process debates” consist of two theoretical papers and draw attention to emotional and aesthetic labor and disciplining labor. First paper is titled “Labor Changing Face: Emotional and Aesthetic Labor” (in Turkish). In her paper, Banu Özbucak Albar focuses on women labor in service sector and their daily practices in workplaces as emotional and aesthetic labor. Second paper of the first part is titled “Disciplining of Labor and Resistance”. In her paper, Feyza Turgay puts an emphasis on disciplining of labor and time and also discusses to resistance to work. The studies of the second part of the book which is titled “current social policy issues” consist of three theoretical papers and draw attention to Socio-economic support service in family, children in agricultural sector, and enrolment in personal private pension programmes in Turkey. First paper of this section is titled “Evaluation on Return to the Family and Socio-economic Support Service in Family” (in Turkish). In her paper, Şeyda Yıldırım analyzes various dimensions of the process of returning to family, including poverty, social work practices, social assistance, and socio-economic support for protected children. Second paper of this section is titled “Innovative Turns in Pension Orthodoxy: Automatic Enrolment in Personal Private Pension Programmes”. In her paper Aslı Güleç Taşdemir aims to analyze both the implications of pension orthodoxy in terms of both changing role of the state and markets in pension provision, and also the ways in which automatic enrolment as an innovative reform for pension privatization has been a policy recommendation for reforming countries with respect the Turkish case. The last paper of this section is titled “Children in Agriculture Sector and Rights” (in Turkish). In her paper, Sebiha Kablay discusses the situation of children working in harvest, and also the situation of children participating in seasonal agricultural migration together with their families. The studies of the third part of the book which is titled “industrial relations discourses” consist of two empirical research papers and a theoretical paper. Studies draw attention to new cooperativism in Turkey, social dialogue mechanisms in Turkey and tea farming and migrant labor in Turkey. First paper of this section is titled “Looking Closer to the New Cooperativism: Practices of Agricultural and Consumer Cooperatives in Turkey”. In their empirical research paper, Elif Hacısalihoğlu and Çağatay Edgücan Şahin focus on agricultural and consumer cooperatives and search an answer to an important question as follows: “is there a way to establish an alternative production model with cooperatives, by which the producers and the workers win at the same time?”. Second paper of this section is titled “Dysfunctionality of the Harmonization Process with the EU Social Dialogue Mechanisms in Turkey” (in Turkish). In their paper, Özal Çiçek and Mehmet Öçal discuss both the Economic and Social Council and the Tripartite Advisory Board’s representation structure on the social partners and relevance and the appropriacy of the effectiveness of the issues or attitudes addressed in these structures to the European Social Model. The last paper of this section is titled “Tea Farming and Migrant Labour: Georgian Migrants in the Eastern Black Sea 7 INTrOduCTION Region” (in Turkish). In their paper, Nihan Ciğerci Ulukan and Umut Ulukan discuss and share their research findings about migration processes, job histories of migrants, working and living conditions, social networks and their future expectations. The studies of the fourth part of the book which is titled “current behavioral approaches in working life” consist of two theoretical and one empirical research paper. Studies draw attention to poverty with a psychological point of view, relationship between ethical leadership behavior and organizational commitment, and orientation of seafarers. First paper of this section is titled “Being Poor or Feeling Poor: Poverty with Objective and Subjective Dimensions”. In her paper, Arzu Özsoy Özmen, approaches to poverty as a social policy issue, with a psychological point of view. The basic framework of the study is based on the fact that the subjective and objective dimensions of poverty has equivalent importance and should be taken together. Second paper of this section is titled “Process the Relationship between Ethical Leadership Behavior and Organizational Commitment” (in Turkish). In their empirical research paper, Zübeyir Bağcı and Türkmen Taşer Akbaş investigate the effects of employees’ perception of ethical leadership on the organizational commitment, with a research study which was conducted with 115 employees of a public institute who were selected according to the convenience sampling method. Bağcı and Akbaş’s studys’ findings support that employees’ perceptions of ethical leadership behaviour affected the organizational commitment positively. The last paper of this section is titled “Orientation of Seafarer to Ensure Quality and Safety in Ship Management” (in Turkish). In his paper, Aziz Muslu analyzes the orientation training of seafarers and some suggest some solutions to improve the orientation process in maritime industry. As seen above, all of the papers in the Volume draw attention to different aspects of labor economics and industrial relations. We believe that such studies will contribute to the development of debates in labor economics and industrial relations, and encourage interdisciplinary approaches.
