SED conducts a number of specialized training schools throughout the year for both its own members and for outside agencies. These schools include Basic SWAT School, Advanced SWAT School, and Long Rifle School. All of these schools have been certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Students of these schools often include specialized military contingents such as the Navy Seals. In addition, the schools draw international participation.
