Of all of the dances I have used at beginner dance parties over the years, this one is the dance that
most people want to repeat. A detailed teaching sequence can be viewed by clicking here. I strongly
suggest you watch the video. I show several teaching techniques. This dance has two figure eight
movements that are often confusing to dancers. However, once learned, the dancers really like the
movements.

..9-16 Circle Right
17-32 Ladies Figure Eight Around the Men
The ladies dance a “figure of eight” around the standing men (First around their partner and then
around their corner) beginning by moving to the left in front of their partner, around him, then in front of
their corner, around him and return to place – 8 counts each, total 16 counts.
33-48 Men Figure Eight Around the Ladies
The men dance a “figure of eight” around the standing ladies (First dancing around their partner and
then around their corner) beginning by moving to the right in front of their partner, around her, then in
front of their corner, around her, and return to place. End facing partners, men facing LOD.
49-56 Clap Twice, Stamp Twice, Pass By the Right
Start an “interrupted grand right and left.” Partners clap own hands twice, then stamp right foot twice,
then join right hands and pass each other by in 4 steps to face the next.
57-64 Clap Twice, Stamp Twice, Pass By The Left
Repeat the hand claps and stamps, join left hands and pass by each other in 4 steps to face the next.
65-72 Clap Twice, Stamp Twice, Pass By the Right
73-80 Clap Twice, Stamp Twice, Pass By The Left
End ready to Circle to the Left.
