It is divided into four books, the first of which is mainly for the younger readers and consists primarily of arithmetical puzzles. Some of them are pretty difficult, but if you cannot solve them, you will learn much from reading the solutions, which will show you how you can solve similar problems. Book II is for the young and old alike and consists of logical prob- lems of crime detection. Book III consists of both logical and arithmetical puzzles and should also appeal to young and old alike. Book IV is really my favorite part of this volume, and I believe it will be yours, too! It consists entirely of clever logic puzzles—those that arose in the course of King Arthur s amaz- ing search for his missing dog—and is for all readers. The four books are independent units and can be read in any order. Those who, like me, favor logic puzzles will find them aplenty in Books II and IV (and also in Chapter VII of Book III).
