Welcome to AutoVu Patroller!
AutoVu Patroller runs on a computer in your vehicle and is used to capture images of license plates and
related data as you are on patrol, automatically registering different kind of infractions (referred to as hits)
that can then be enforced.

Select Enforcement Parameters
As you are on patrol you pass through different parking zones that have different parking rules. In each zone, you se-
lect the corresponding rules to enforce by selecting either an overtime zone, a permit zone, or both, which have been
predefined for the zone you are patrolling and automatically loaded onto your Patroller unit.

• If you select an overtime zone, it is enforced along with hotlists, resulting in overtime and hotlist hits if criteria are met.
• If you select a permit zone, it is enforced, along with hotlists, resulting in permit and hotlist hits if criteria are met.
• If you select an overtime, and permit zone, the behavior changes: only overtime and hotlist hits may result: the permit zone serves
to exempt vehicles on the associated permit list from being subject to the overtime rules, preventing them from receiving the over-
time infraction.
Each license license plate read may result in multiple hotlist hits as well as either an overtime or permit hit. You can also configure the
Patroller to only register one hit per read, in which case, for example, once the hit registers as a permit hit, it will no longer be pro-

cessed against other types of hits or read in subsequent Patroller passes.
Understand the Map
The map on the Main screen follows your vehicle as you patrol the city.

Enforce Hits
When a hit occurs, either the corresponding hits screen appears where you can:
• See information about it.
• Edit the license plate.
• Accept and enforce it.
Or you can access acumulated hits from the Hit button in the Main screen to perform the above steps. See page 3.
The Permit Hit screen is similar to the Hotlist Hit screen. The Overtime Hit screen has additonal features. See page 7.

Time between reads is indicated, the zone that was enforced, and how many

overtime violations: In this case the reads shown are always the last two.
Review Reads and Hits
Reads, as well as hits of all types, are stored in the Patroller for the current shift, and can be reviewed.
To display the Review Reads or Hits screen, on the Main screen touch Options, then in the Options screen
touch Review Read or Review Hits.
In both review screens, you can scroll through all records (reads or
hits) in the Patroller unit from the current shift:
• Image and Map (and optionally Wheel) views are available.
• You can print a Report of the read/hit.

You can reduce the set of reads to review by clicking Search plate and entering one or more characters of a plate. Only plates
with the entered characters, in the order entered, are displayed. Click Search plate again to disable the filter.
