Deborah Bornmann Allen, Fraternity Vice-President Alumnae Management of the fund was assumed by Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation in 1994. In AO/Florida 2003, the Foundation opened Friendship Fund eligibility to all members, both alumnae and collegian. During the past 80 years, the Friendship Fund has grown substantially from the first pennies contributed during Founders Day celebrations. One important aspect of the Friendship Fund remains the confidentiality surrounding the giving of gifts. Members write on behalf of a sister, and the proposed recipient often KAPPA ALPHA THETA never knows who recommended her for the gift.
