1990 began with an enormousamountof
enthusiasm, mainlycontributed by the
eight house representatives. Another
great sourceofenthusiasm was Mrs
Zayan, whose advice and knowledge have
been greatly appreciated. A special
thanks mustalso go to Mrs Smith and
Miss Wright, whose organisation ofthe
various streetappeals throughout the year
has been tremendous.
The first and most important lesson I
learned about the art offund-raising this
year was to sell what was in the greatest
demand - food. Ourfirst major fund
raising activity was the hotcross bun
drive and, as could beexpected, this was a
great success.
In second term we started offwith a hot
dog day, which was very well organised
by Stewart House and this was soon
followed by aCasual Day. Both ofthese
events were very successful. Next we had
astreet appeal which was well organised
by Miss Wright and was very rewarding
for all those who participated.
The mostexciting and successful eventof
the whole year was the mini-fete, which
was held in the undercrofton the first
