It is hard to believe that we are celebrating another year of learning adventures here at Albert College. It is even more amazing to realize that for the past 160 years, Albert College has been providing students with opportunities to try new things while enjoying many traditions, too. I have included three pictures on this page because all three of them represent the theme of trying something new. I am very fortunate to have my grandmother who is turning 96 years old this summer! She is always young at heart and has taught me that it is never too late to try something new! My little boy, Arbor, has taught me that it is okay to try new things, even if it is the same thing over and over until you reach success. For example, when I watched him learn to walk, I noticed that it did not matter how many times he fell, because he got right back up and tried again! Now, I am busy chasing him around! Finally, I have included a picture with a reptile that was visiting our school. Even though I was nervous to touch it, I took my lead from the students. From you, I have seen that many of you do not even hesitate to try something new. Even sometimes, when it can be challenging and scary to try new things, you feel safe to try, no matter what the outcome may be. You are always ready to cheer each other on with high fives, big smiles and sometimes even big hugs. The front cover includes fireworks and I cannot help but think of how each of you is like a firework. Each of you is colourful, at times loud, exciting, and bursting with unique qualities that often leave us amazed! You light up our darkest skies with your love and laughter. As you grow older and you move on to new adventures, I hope that you remember to be confident and kind, and to courageously let your colours shine brightly. I hope that you have fun looking back on this past year every time you pick up this book! I would especially like to thank Mrs. Lindsay-Sonkin and the Yearbook Club for their hard work to make this yearbook a reality. I would also like to thank Mrs. Henshaw for spending the year with us in Grade 5 and all of the teachers for their time, enthusiasm and wonderful photos! It was certainly a memorable year!
