JOSEPH CASE HIGH SCHOOL THE CHIEF SWANSEA FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY gi asc’iiSrb^ Joseph Case High School • Swansea, Massachusetts It’s Important To Have Teachers Like Mr. Mulligan We the Joseph Case High School senior class of 1991, proudly dedicate our class yearbook to Mr. Craig Mulligan. Mr. Mulligan is one of the most energetic and involved teachers in our school system. He was always there for the student. Never once has he ever refused to give up his own free time to help a student. Before we were born Mr. Mulligan had graduat¬ ed from Georgetown University after serving in the United States Navy. He started teaching the sons and daughters of Swansea in 1959. His interest in sports led to a position of assistant football coach, as well as annual pilgrimages to Major League Baseball parks across the United States, participation in triathalons, and the Boston Marathon. Mr. Mulligan’s entertaining stories, jokes, and little witticisms have always made his math class worth staying awake for. Not only did we have fun laughing in his class, most of all we learned. We learned a lot, from Basic Geometry to Calculus. He has an uncanny knack for bring¬ ing the most difficult concepts down to a level the students can easily understand. He always kept our attention—one way or another, "O.K. troops! Any questions, raise your left paw. Son! That’s 20 minutes at the end of day, not my end of day but your end of day. Holy Bullfrogs!” What a teacher! Mr. Mulligan always made an effort to support all school functions. Many a ball game and Craig Mulligan many a pancake breakfast has he gone to. Mr. Mulligan is more than just a teacher; he’s a friend, who’s willing to help in any way he can. He has both the class of I99l’s and the faculty’s endorsement of a man of integrity, a man to trust. It’s important to have teachers like Mr. Mulli¬ gan. Some one who cares that much and gives that much time, has a lasting effect on a stu¬ dent, an effect that stays with him or her for a lifetime. It’s that type of teacher that gives a student a background, a strong background. It’s that type of teacher that will make sure that the future generations of this country will live up to their full potential. Thanks for every¬ thing Mr. Mulligan.
