Sounds of the Past Come Alive at 38th Annual Phonograph & Music Box Show & Sale Article & photos by Brian Maloney Donley’s Wild West Town in Union, Illinois once again played host to what has become the world’s largest show of its kind - the thirty-eighth annual Phonograph & Music Box Show & Sale. From its humble beginnings in the 1970’s, when a few collectors spread their wares out on the lawn, the show has certainly grown up. Serious collectors from as far as Europe and Asia now make the trip here each year to visit the very best dealers in this specialized collecting field. From machines to parts to vintage recordings, this is about the best place in America to find what you’re looking for.
