Providing a comprehensive overview of the world of al-Makkī and presenting extracts from his book on religious characteristics of the heart with selected passages in translation for the first time in English, this book will give readers a betterunderstandingnotonlyoftheessentialfeaturesofSufism,butalsothenature ofmysticismanditsrelationtomonotheisticfaiths.
