This standard was first published in 1975. The revision of this standard has been taken up to incorporate the following changes inthe light of experience gained andto bring itinlinewith current practices: a) Additional values of diameter has been included, b) Tolerance on mass hasbeen reduced to+ 5percent, c) Requirement for packing and criteria for conformity havebeen modified, and d) Terminology has been included. The composition of the Committee responsible for formulation ofthis standard isgiven inAnnex B. For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard iscomplied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS2:1960 ‘Rules for rounding off numerical values (revised)’.
