It can also be produced by dehydrogenation of butanes orbutenes. 1,3-Butadiene ischiefly used astheprincipal monomer forthemanufacture ofvarious grades ofrubber, namely, Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene rubber (ABS) or Polybutadiene rubber (PBR). It also finds its use inrocket fuels, inplastics and resins. There is no 1S0 standard on this subject.
