Bamboo mat board is made of two or more bamboo mats bonded with an adhesive. The mat used is made by weaving thin, uniform strips of bamboo, In the present scenario, where availa bility ofconventional timber has been reduced to considerable extent, the bamboo mat board is expected to find extensive use in future. The product is now being produced and marketed in India. This standard has therefore, been formulated to guide the manufacturers and users of bamboo mat boards. In the preparation ofthis standard, considerable assistance has been renderd by Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute, Bangalore. The composition ofthe technical committee responsible for the formulation of this standard is given at Annex C. For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS 2 : 1960'Rules for rounding off numerical values (rnlsed)'. The number ofsignificant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same al that of the specified value in this standard.
