Cane mud filter isa device used to separate the mud from the turbid juice. Stainless steel decking plates are integral components ofthese filters and are being commonly used by the sugar industry. This Indian Standard has been formulated to provide guidelines for ensuring their quality. For the purpose ofdeciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated,expressing the result ofa test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS 2 : 1960 'Rules for rounding off numerical values (revised)'. The numberofsignificant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that ofthe specified value in this standard.
