This standard has been prepared to rationalize the types and sizes of sewing machine components for manufacturing in economic quantit,ies. For general requirements, IS 1610 : 1989 ‘Household sewing machines - General requirement’ can be reffered. A list of Indian Standards on sewing machines is given in Annex B.
