Intelligence computing is used to investigate, simulate, analyze and solve real-world problems. Its ability to deal with uncertainty and imprecision has attracted researchers and practitioners to develop this field. In recent years, computational intelligence has been used to deal with various prob- lems related to daily life. The need for smart devices has increased continuously, rang- ing from personal business assistants to appliances for entertainment. Digital cameras, wireless communication, sensors and multimedia are increasingly common technolo- gies in these devices. Sensors help a device to collect data and wireless communication enables the device to communicate with other devices in the network to exchange infor- mation as well as receive instruction. These functions have encouraged the development of the Internet of Things, which in many ways supports our daily lives. Internet of Things refers to the interconnection of devices where the devices are able to exchange and consume data with minimal human intervention. It integrates new technologies, especially computing and communication technologies. The Internet of Things supports collaboration between industries, researchers and policymakers. It has created a new market that significantly changes the economy and society globally. This book‘s 17 chapters discuss various issues related to further research, develop- ment and the application of Computational Intelligence and the Internet of Things. Each chapter addresses specific issues such as robotics, industrial applications, government enhancement, security and weather. v Contents Preface v Editors ix Contributors xi 1 Rapid Application Development in Cloud Computing with IoT 1 Nirupma Singh and Abid Hussain 2 Integration of IoT with Artificial Intelligence in Health Care 29 N.K.
