ReviewSuch a fabulous book. Charlton was a wonderful hero. He returned from the war and immediately had to begin cleaning up the mess his now deceased brother had made of things. He was a true gentleman, inside and out. His nightly conversations with his mother really endeared me to him.
Odette was such a sweet, trusting and innocent heroine. She was smart, beautiful and not as interested in marriage as those around her.
Her trust in others almost ruins a budding relationship.
The primary characters in this book are marvelous, but so are the secondary characters. There are so many more stories to be told.
While it is not necessary to read the first book in this series to enjoy this one, it helps introduce many of the characters.
I highly recommend this book as well as all others by Arietta Richmond, who is one of my favorite authors.
