The travel restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 outbreak caused the IGS 2021 conferencetobeheldin2022. The IGS conference has always been an open international event, and this year receivedsubmissionsfrommorethan14countries.Inthisedition,thebiggestpresence wasfromItaly,buttherewasalsoastronggoodpresencefromSpain,Canada,andthe CzechRepublic. IGS2021received41submissions.ThereviewprocessforIGS2021wasdiligent and required the careful consideration of 67 reviewers who spent significant time and effortinreviewingthepapers,withaminimumofthreereviewsperpaper.Intheend,36 paperswereacceptedfortheconferenceand26forpublicationinthisSpringerLNCS volume, which is an 87% and 63% rate of acceptance, respectively. To form the final program,20paperswereselectedfororalpresentations(48%ofallsubmissions),17% forthepostersession,and22%forspecialsessions. Theprogramwascomprisedofsixoralsessionsonthefollowingtopics:historical documents,forensichandwritingexaminations,handwritinglearninganddevelopment, andmotorcontrol.Oneadditionalpostersessionincludedpapersonallprevioustopics, andthreespecialsessionsincludedpapersonneurodegenerativedisorders.Allthepapers, includingtheonessubmittedbyorganizers,wentthroughthesamerevisionprocedure. Toavoidanybiasinfavoroftheorganizers’papers,objectiveruleswerefollowed.The IGS2021programwasenhancedbythreekeynotesbyeminentspeakers:MiguelÁngel Ferrer,JoséManuelVilar,andJoséJuanQuintana. Thegraphonomicscommunityiswitnessingadeeptransformation,nowincreasingly dominatedbyadvancesoccurringintheindustryinmachinelearning,computervision, and related fields around Artificial Intelligence. We hope that these proceedings will resultinafruitfulreferenceforthegraphonomicresearchcommunity.Finally,wewould liketothankallwhomadethispossible,especiallytheauthors,thereviewers,andthe IGScommunityatlarge.
