Dear Friends! Welcome to our 4th annual Inspire event! Tonight we are celebrating The Arts, including exceptional displays and performances of creative works by our students, faculty, and others in our community. While there are many distinctive components to Waldorf education, at SWS our work to develop the artistic capacities in all children is central to our mission. Tonight offers a marvelous affirmation of this commitment. We hope you enjoy the “art walk” as well as dinner and conversation with friends. As has become a tradition at Inspire, the dance floor will open following the Dessert Dash, and a few energetic souls will party til the lights go out! We have some fun new additions to the evening, including an array of raffle items and “heads and tails.” The live auction offers terrific getaways near and far, as well as dinners, concert tickets and more. As the saying goes, bid early and often – all funds raised will enhance the extraordinary educational experience Seattle Waldorf School offers to children and families. Tonight’s Raise Your Paddle supports a new initiative, the “Visiting Scholars Fund.” Your generous contributions will bring master teachers and professional experts to SWS to share their knowledge and inspiration with our teachers, students and community. In addition, the Visiting Scholars Fund will provide resources for SWS faculty to visit other Waldorf schools and attend conferences around the world, expanding their professional networks and perspectives well beyond Seattle. We have set an ambitious goal of raising $65,000 for this fund – please help us surpass this mark! On behalf of all the children whose lives will be enriched by your generous spirit, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Have a wonderful evening! With deep appreciation, Tracy Bennett Nettie Fabrie Head of School Head of Pedagogy “You will not be good teachers if you focus only on what you do and not upon who you are.” Rudolf Steiner We are very grateful to our sponsors for their generosity and commitment to Seattle Waldorf School.
