About the Editors
AndréLuizMoneziAndrade obtainedMDandPh.D.inpsychobiology(withan
emphasis on substance dependence) from the Universidade Federal de São Paulo
(UNIFESP)—Escola Paulista de Medicina and graduated in psychology from the
Universidade Positivo. At present, he is an associate editor of the International
Journal of Psychology and Neuroscience (ISSN 2183-5829). He has experience in
basic research that evaluates the effects of the dopaminergic and serotoninergic
systemsonthebehavioralsensitizationtothestimulanteffectsofalcoholinrodents.
He has developed several works in clinical research that evaluate different models
of prevention of drug use and abuse. Additionally, he was the supervisor of the
coursesSUPERA(SystemfortheAbusiveuseofandDependenceonPsychoactive
Substances: Referral, Brief Intervention, Social Reinsertion and Follow-up) and
Faith in Prevention, both sponsored by the National Secretary of Policy on Drugs
(SENAD), which have already qualified over 70,000 health professionals and
religious leaders from all the states of the country. He is a member of an
International Multicentric Study coordinated by the World Health Organization in
which Brazil, India, Mexico, and Belarus participate, focused on the evaluation
oftheeffectivenessofvirtualinterventionsonalcoholuse.Healsogivesclassesat
the Department of Psychology of Universidade Anhembi Morumbi—Laureate
International Universities®.
Denise De Micheli obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Universidade
Paulista and master’s and doctoral degrees at the Universidade Federal de São
Paulo. She is a professor in the Department of Psychobiology at Universidade
FederaldeSãoPaulo,alsoservesaschiefoftheInterdisciplinaryCentreofStudies
in Neuroscience Adolescent Health and Education, and is a member of the
Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse.

Marco Tulio de Mello graduated in physical education from the Universidade
Federal de Uberlândia (UFU), specialized in Physical Education for Persons with
Special Needs from the UFU, a doctor in psychobiology from the Universidade
Federal de São Paulo, and a full professor from the Universidade Estadual de
Campinas. Mello is an associate professor at the Department of Sports in the
College of Physical Education, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy at the
Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
Lúcio Garcia de Oliveira graduated in biomedicine from the Universidade
FederaldeSãoPaulo(UNIFESP)andinpsychologyfromtheCentroUniversitário
Paulistano (Unipaulistana). He specialized in neuropsychology at the Center of
Psychosurgical Studies (CEPSIC) of Hospital das Clínicas (HC-FMUSP) and in
cognitive behavioral therapy in the Program of Anxiety (AMBAN) of the Institute
of Psychiatry at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São
Paulo FMUSP. He has a master’s and a doctoral degree from the Department of
Psychobiology at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo UNIFESP, has a post-
doctoral degree from the Department and Institute of Psychiatry at Faculdade de
Medicina daUniversidade deSão Paulo (FMUSP), andisadoctoral studentatthe
Department of Forensic Medicine, Medical Ethics and Social and Work Medicine
(FMUSP). He is currently working as a psychologist at Hospital Municipal Dr.

Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and is a specialist in cognitive therapies from the
Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). She had training in
Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) from the University of California,
San Diego School of Medicine, and advanced teacher training from the Centre for
Addiction Treatment Studies (UK). She worked at the Centro de Atenção
Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas (CAPS-AD) (Center of Psychosocial Care—Alcohol
and Drugs) between 1992 and 2008. She is currently working as a collaborator at
