4 Index of Substances for Vols. II/4, II/6, II/14 and II/19 This index contains all gross and structural formulae of molecules which have appeared in the present Landolt Börnstein volume II/19 and the previous II/14, II/6, and II/4. It has been prepared by means of the MOGADOC Database (Molecular Gasphase Documentation), which was established and is being continously updated by the „Sektion für Spektren- und Strukturdokumentation“ at the University of Ulm. This comprehensive molecular physical and structural chemical database deals with substances, which have been investigated by microwave spectroscopy or electron diffraction in the gas phase. The features of this in-house database are described elsewhere [1-3]. It runs on personal computers. In order to compose the present list of molecules appropriate information has been downloaded from the MOGADOC database and supplemented by the table numbers as well as the serial numbers in the Landolt Börnstein volumes. Moreover, the indexes of the previous volumes have been revised thoroughly; duplicate entries have been combined, missing entries added, and errata in gross or structural formulae corrected. The ordering of the substances follows the early suggestion of Hill [4]. This means that the molecules are arranged in alphabetical order of the element symbols - with the exception of carbon and hydrogen atoms in organic compounds which are written first in that order. In this way all organic compounds are bound together between gross formulae starting with Br (if present) and those starting with Ca (if present). Deuterium is treated like hydrogen.
