( 2nd Edition ABOUT THE AUTHOR Paweł “Sariel” Kmieć is a LEGO Technic enthusiast based in Warsaw, Poland, and the author of the popular Technic Builder’s Guide (No Starch Press). A prolific builder, he is known mostly for his models of tanks and trucks, but his pursuit of new ideas has led him to dabble in aircraft, watercraft, and even monorail creations. The LEGO Group used his help in devel- oping its Power Functions system and sends him Technic sets for review. He was a 2012 LEGO Ambassador for Poland and one of just three people in the world—together with Eric Albrecht and Fernando Correia—enrolled as a guest blogger for the LEGO Technic website. ABOUT THE TECHNICAL ADVISER Eric “Blakbird” Albrecht is an aerospace engineer living in the northwest United States. He maintains the globally known Technicopedia http://www.technicopedia.com/ ments the history of every Technic model from 1977 on, all of which are on display on his shelves. Eric is also an avid user of LEGO CAD tools and has generated over 1,000 photo-realistic renders of official models and MOCs (My Own Creations). He has created dozens of sets of instructions for some of the best Technic MOCs from around the world, averaging 1,500 parts each. He was the technical reviewer for Builder’s Guide and illustrated The Unofficial LEGO Builder’s Guide, (both from No Starch Press).
