Description:Are you a Leo Buscaglia fan? Are you stimulated by books such as Life Strategies, Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, or Take Time for Your Life? Do you think Oprah is an intellectual giant? If so, this is just your cup of tea.For the rest of us, this book is not worth the time. It claims to explain how NLP techniques can be used in the ESL (ELT) classroom. What is NLP? Sorry to be so blunt, but to me, NLP is nothing but overblown self-help. I looked over two other books on NLP, and found nothing but generalities and a lot of nonsense. And they actually hold conferences on this stuff! This book is filled with quotes and anecdotes I've already heard hundreds of times before. With the exception of a couple of exercises, everything in this book is obvious and too vague to be of any help. I've read many other books on ESL and this is by far the worst. Want to read something really inspiring on ESL (ELT)? Try Learning Teaching by Jim Scrivener. Try A Course in Language Teaching by Penny Ur. These two books are much better than In Your Hands.
