That’s about one day each week spent searching for materials, documents, or files and more often than not, the culprit is a disorganized work space. So, how does one begin to organize a physical work area? Pink represents all our patients who are fighting cancer and those who have been blessed to be called a survivor. Pink Up is dedicated to bringing screenings to our communities for the top four cancers of our area: breast, lung, colon and prostate cancer. The color pink may seem like it is only for breast cancer, but to those of us at Saint Francis, it represents all those who have fought, are fighting and who have beaten cancer. We kicked off the 2017 Pink Up awareness campaign on Tuesday, October 3, with more than 1,000 guests, including cancer survivors, their families and supporters and the Saint Francis Family. The celebration was full of great food, entertainment, fireworks and, of course, Pink Up merchandise, all benefitting Dig for Life, Saint Francis’ program that provides free screenings and other cancer services for local patients who could not otherwise afford them. Throughout the month, countless schools, businesses and individuals hosted events and other activities in support of Pink Up. Southeast Missouri State University’s football team played in a Pink Up game on November 4 for the month’s finale. For more information about the Pink Up Campaign, please contact the Saint Francis Foundation at 573-331-5133. 10
