The assessment considers: (cid:120) the ability of the animal to establish feral populations in the wild; and (cid:120) the animal’s pest potential to agriculture and the environment; Decisions on importation are made after consideration of both the short and long-term consequences of importation. None of the restrictions listed in these tables apply to invertebrates or to fish species in the Class Pisces. The table does not include native birds or animals declared in category A7 (managed native birds). It is not exhaustive and does not necessarily set out all of the restrictions applicable to a particular bird or animal under the Act and other legislation. If you are in any doubt as to the legal restrictions applicable to an animal or bird, please contact CALM or Department of Agriculture. Subject to the above, the following applies to the tables below: (cid:120) If an animal or bird appears in these tables, it is subject to the regulations set out in the column headed ‘Categories and other conditions’. (cid:120) If an animal or bird does not appear in these tables and are not indigenous animals, they are prohibited as declared animals in categories A1, A2, A3. The meanings of those categories are summarised below.
