IVCNZ 2022 was organized by the Centre for Robotics & Vision (CeRV), Auckland UniversityofTechnology(AUT). Image and Vision Computing New Zealand is New Zealand’s premier academic conferenceonallaspectsofcomputervision,imageprocessing,computergraphics,vir- tualand augmented reality,visualization, and HCI applications related to thesefields. Relevanttopicsinclude,butarenotlimitedto:artificialIntelligenceapproachestocom- putervision;augmentedandvirtualreality;automatedvisualsurveillance;biomedical imagingandvisualization;biologicallyinspiredvisionsystems;biometrics;calibration techniques; computer graphics; enhancement of video and still images; face recogni- tion;featuredetectionandextraction;geometricmodelinginvisionandgraphics;graph matching;imageanalysisandunderstanding;image-basedrendering;imagecompres- sion and coding; machine vision applications; medical imaging applications; motion trackingandanalysis;motionsynthesisandcontrol;multimediainformationretrieval; novelalgorithmsortechniques;objectrecognition;patternrecognitionandclassification; reconstructiontechniques;renderingandscientificvisualization;scientificvisualization; securityimageprocessing;shaperecoveryfrommultipleimages;sonarandacoustical imaging;andstereoimageanalysis. Weinvitedsubmissionsaimingeitherathighlightingrelationshipsbetweenadjacent topicswithinthelistedareasorcontributingtoaparticulartopicwithinoneareawhich isoffairlygeneralinterest. Thisconferenceuseddouble-blindreview,whichmeansthattheauthorswerecon- cealedfromthereviewers,andviceversa,throughoutthereviewprocess.Bytheend, wehad97fullpaperssubmittedtotheEasyChairconferencesystem.Wereceived136 reviewsintotal.Theaveragenumberofreviewsperpaperwas2.72;onaverage,each reviewer was assigned approximately three papers to assess. After the double-blind reviewing process, 29 papers were accepted for presentation at the conference. This resultedina29.89%acceptancerate.Wethereforehad29oralpresentations,groupedin foursessionsduringthetwodaysoftheconference.Fromtheselectedpapers,wechose one paper for the best paper award. Additionally, we invited four renowned keynote speakers: Mengjie Zhang, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand; Mohan Kankanhalli,NationalUniversityofSingapore;NikolaKasabov,AucklandUniversity ofTechnology,NewZealand;andDachengTao,UniversityofSydney,Australia.
