บทคัดย่อ

การศึกษาในช-นั เรียนน-ีมีวตั ถุประสงคเ์พื0อ (1) ศึกษาผลของการฝึกจาํ แนกชนิดของคาํ
และการใช้พจนานุกรมต่อการพฒั นาความสามารถในการเลือกความหมายที0เหมาะสมของ
คาํ พอ้ งรูปและเสียงและคาํ พอ้ งรูปของนกั ศึกษาระดบั ปริญญาตรีที0เรียนวิชาการแปล (2) หาปัจจยั ซ0ึง
ผเู้รียนเห็นวา่ ส่งผลต่อความสามารถของตนเองในการเลือกความหมายที0ถูกตอ้ งของคาํ พอ้ งรูปและ
เสียงและคาํ พอ้ งรูป และ (3) สาํ รวจทศั นคติของผเู้รียนตอ่ การฝึกดงั กล่าว
การศึกษาในคร-ังน-ีไดท้ ดลองกบั กลุ่มตวั อยา่ งซ0ึงเป็นนกั ศึกษาวิชาเอกภาษาองั กฤษช-นั
ปีที02ในภาคเรียนที01 ปีการศึกษา 2555 มหาวิทยาลยั ราชภฏั ยะลา จาํ นวน 30 คน เครื0องมือใน
งานวจิ ยั ประกอบดว้ ย 1) ใบงานซ0ึงมีคาํ ศพั ทเ์ป้าหมายที0เป็นคาํ พอ้ งรูปและเสียงและคาํ พอ้ งรูป 60 คาํ
ซ0ึงเลือกมาจากรายการคาํ ศพั ท์พ-ืนฐานที0ใช้กนั ทว0ั ไปของคาํ ที0พบได้บ่อยที0สุดในภาษาองั กฤษ 2)
แบบทดสอบก่อนและหลงั การฝึกซ0ึงมีคาํ ศพั ท์เป้าหมาย 20คาํ ซ0ึงเป็นคาํ ที0ไม่ไดร้ วมอยใู่ นใบงาน
และ 3) แบบสอบถามจาํ นวนสองฉบบั เรื0องปัจจยั ที0ผเู้รียนเห็นวา่ ส่งผลต่อความสามารถของตนเอง
ในการเลือกความหมายที0ถูกตอ้ งของคาํ ที0มีหลายความหมายและเรื0องทศั นคติของผเู้รียนจากการที0
ไดร้ ับการฝึก
ผลของการวจิ ยั สรุปไดด้ งั น-ี
1. หลงั กลุ่มตวั อย่างได้รับการฝึกการจาํ แนกชนิดของคาํ และการใช้พจนานุกรม
พบว่าคะแนนทดสอบหลงั การฝึกของผูเ้รียนสูงกว่าคะแนนก่อนฝึกอย่างมีนัยสําคญั ที0ระดบั .01
แสดงใหเ้ห็นวา่ การฝึกช่วยใหผ้ เู้รียนสามารถเลือกความหมายของคาํ ที0มีหลายความหมายได ้
2. ทกั ษะทางดา้ นคาํ ศพั ทเ์ป็นปัจจยั ที0มีผลต่อผเู้รียนในการเลือกความหมายของคาํ
มากที0สุด

ABSTRACT

The purposes of this classroom-based research were (1) to investigate
the effectiveness of training in part of speech identification and dictionary use in order

to develop the ability to select appropriate meanings of English homonyms and
homographs of undergraduate students who enrolled in a translation class to select
appropriate meanings of English homonyms and homographs; (2) to identify factors
the students perceived as affecting their competence in selecting the right meanings of
homonyms and homographs, and (3) to explore their attitudes towards the training.
The study was conducted on 30 second year English major students in
the first semester of the 2012 academic year at Yala Rajabhat University. The
instruments used in the research were: 1) the training worksheets consisting of 60
target homographs and homonyms chosen from the General Service List of most high
frequency words of English 2) the pre-post tests consisting of 20 target words not
included in the worksheets and 3) two questionnaires on factors the students perceived
as affecting their ability in sense selection of words with multiple meanings, and
attitudes toward the training.
Findings were summarized as follows:
1. After the subjects were trained to identify parts of speech and use
dictionaries, their post-test scores were significantly higher than their pre-test scores
at the level of .01. This revealed that the training benefited the students in their sense
selection of multi-meaning words.
2. Vocabulary skill was regarded as the most influential factor
affecting their sense selection.

3. The majority of the subjects had positive attitudes towards the
training; the training on part of speech identification made them able to select
meanings appropriate to the context and the training on dictionary use was considered
useful in translation class.
