A RESOLUTION
1 Welcoming and commending the Honorable Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla; and for
2 other purposes.
3 WHEREAS, the Honorable Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla assumed charge as India's
4 Ambassador to the United States on January 9, 2019; and
5 WHEREAS, Ambassador Shringla is a career diplomat who has admirably served as a
6 member of the Indian Foreign Service since 1984; and
7 WHEREAS, his spectacular career has included publishing papers on conflict prevention,
8 economic diplomacy, the Indian diaspora, and India-Bangladesh relations, and some of his
9 most notable accomplishments include having served as High Commissioner of India to
10 Bangladesh and Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand; and
11 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
12 talents, and energy toward the betterment of India's relationships with its allies; and
13 WHEREAS, Ambassador Shringla's significant organizational and leadership talents,
14 remarkable patience, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the delicate intricacies of
15 diplomacy have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments and
17 contributions of this distinguished diplomat be appropriately recognized.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
19 the members of this body welcome and commend the Honorable Ambassador Harsh Vardhan
20 Shringla for his tireless efforts in furtherance of the ties of friendship between India and the
21 United States.

22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
24 Honorable Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
