A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing and commending Coach Jim Dickerson upon the grand occasion of his
2 retirement; and for other purposes.
3 WHEREAS, after 15 seasons, Coach Jim Dickerson is retiring as the all-time winningest
4 football coach in Clinch County, with an overall record of 152-44-1; and
5 WHEREAS, his teams have won five state championships; only five coaches in Georgia
6 High School Association history have coached more state title teams than Coach Dickerson;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, in his teaching of fundamentals, he uses sports to encourage students to believe
9 in themselves, to pursue opportunities for personal growth, and to make a commitment to
10 excellence in every aspect of their lives; and
11 WHEREAS, Coach Dickerson has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the state's
12 finest high school coaches and as a leader who instills a strong sense of sportsmanship, pride,
13 respect, and persistence in the young people he has coached; and
14 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
15 extraordinary coach be appropriately recognized.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
17 the members of this body recognize and commend Coach Jim Dickerson for his inspirational
18 leadership in a long and illustrious coaching career; congratulate him on the grand occasion
19 of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and
20 happiness.

21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
23 Coach Jim Dickerson.
