18 LC 34 5466 House Resolution 14EX By: Representative Burns of the 159th A RESOLUTION 1 Relative to meetings and adjournments of the House of Representatives; and for other 2 purposes. 3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that, except as otherwise 4 provided by this resolution or by subsequent resolution of the House of Representatives, 5 meetings of the 2018 special session of the General Assembly during the period of Saturday, 6 November 17, 2018, through Monday, November 19, 2018, shall be held in accordance with 7 the following schedule: 8 1. Saturday, November 17, 2018: The House of Representatives shall convene for Special 9 Session Day 5 and, upon the completion of all business on such date, the House shall go 10 into recess to await notification from the Senate on the actions of the Senate with regard 11 to legislation which has been previously passed by the House of Representatives during the 12 Special Session and transmitted to the Senate. If the Senate notifies the House that it has 13 passed all of the legislation previously transmitted to the Senate by the House without 14 amendment, then the presiding officer of the House shall receive such report and shall 15 adjourn the House sine die concluding Special Session Day 5. If the Senate notifies the 16 House that the Senate has passed any of the legislation which was previously passed by the 17 House and transmitted to the Senate, but has amended the legislation, then the presiding 18 officer of the House shall accept the report of the Senate and shall adjourn the House until 19 Monday, November 19, 2018. 20 2. Monday, November 19, 2018: If the House was not adjourned sine die in accordance 21 with the provisions of paragraph 1 of this resolution, the House shall convene for Special 22 Session Day 6. 23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the meetings of the House of Representatives shall be 24 held as prescribed in Code Section 28-1-2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, except 25 as otherwise provided by this resolution. The House, 27 upon adjournment for a legislative day, shall remain in a period of adjournment until it 28 convenes for the next legislative day. 29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that on and after the latest legislative day specified above, 30 the schedule for meetings of the 2018 special session may be as provided by another 31 resolution of the General Assembly adopted subsequent to the adoption of this resolution.
