Whilenotentirelydifferentfromothersubstancesofabuse,methisunique enoughtochallengethesesystemstocomeupwiththemosteffectiveways ofhelpingpeoplenotonlystopusingthedrugbutalsostophangingaround otherpeoplewhocontinuetouseit.Atonepointthemostdevastatingcases ofcommunitiesbeingimpactedbymethwerelimitedtothewesternregions ofthenation.Thathaschanged,andwiththeexceptionofonlytheeastern seaboard states, really, meth has penetrated every community, both urban andrural,andhascrossedalmostallethno-anddemographicboundaries.
