1 SO, YOU'RE DEAD - Now What!
“Look. I'll go over it just one more time. It's really not that complicated.
You die. Got that? In any shape, manner or form, you’re dead. So now you're
floating around outside your body, looking down at family and friends who are
crying and miserable. At least we like to hope that they're miserable. And you
have these choices.
“You can hang around. Find out what the ones not crying think of you.
Or, follow your loved ones out of the room where your dead body lies. That's
right. You can leave your body. You're free. You're not in any pain. You can
go anywhere in the world your heart desires.
“I know that's not what you've been told all your life. You've heard you
have to go to Heaven or Hell or Purgatory, or wander the Earth rattling your
chains. But, nonetheless, you have various choices.
“You can stay on your own world with your loved ones forever. Though
trust me on this one. I've been around for millenniums. You're gonna get bored.
If you think life's boring at times, try being dead. Now, that's really stifling.
You're going to want to move on.
“So you say your good-byes. And this is when the real fun begins.
There's the Star-View Lounge way up there in the Heavens. Once up here you
can select from our extensive Directory of Worlds your next reincarnation.
Choose, as well, your parents for this next time around, if you'd like.
“On the other hand, if you're not ready to begin your new life, relax in the
Lounge. Meet and greet your fellow spirits. Talk, schmooze. Have a good
time. Yell at the ones you've hated in life and wish them ill. You can always do
that, interminably.
“If traveling the galaxies as a spirit intrigues you, catalogues and
personalized tours are available upon request. Inquiries are taken at the
Information Center. When your preference rests in helping others, become an
angel. Create miracles, prevent accidents and inspire great discoveries. We can
show you how.
“Then, again, if none of these options thus far appeal, why not be placed
into a state of suspended spirit animation. Perhaps in a thousand years or so,
upon your chosen reawakening, the galaxies will be more to your liking.
“Now, isn't this more exhilarating then you thought it would be? Well, it
looks like the afterlife has lots to offer us. This is great news. Especially to all
those manic-depressives, et al., that are having a tough time in the here and now.
There is something, at long last, for even them to look forward to: Death and
the after-life. What a trip!!
“If at any time you need to contact me, my name is Morris and I can be
found most times at the Information Center here in the Star-View Lounge, or
greeting wonderful spirits like you in our luxurious lounge area. So, until we
meet, take care and watch those wings in the rough air currents ahead.
“This message is being electromagnetically broadcast continuously
throughout all of the planets and dimensions in all of the galaxies to all those
who are dead. So listen up!"
Karen listened intently. Morris' words came in loud and clear for she had
just passed away in the ambulance en route to the JFK Medical Center and
could hear his address. Karen has now joined the ranks of the recently
deceased.
Having been a single, 65 year old retired secretary with no ties and having
had a good life – at least up until this automobile accident – Karen is now ready
to see what the afterlife has in store for her. Feeling a tender pull she relaxes,
allowing her spirit to gently float up through the clouds past the stratosphere.
Landing on a platform facing a large entrance way with seven foot tall
glowing fences on either side of the opening, Karen enters an area with couches,
chairs and tables. Countless spirits fly about her. Some moving so fast she can
hardly see them.
Karen hears at once the soothing familiar voice of Morris, and quickly
joins the group of new arrivals gathering around him eager to discover what this
new world has to offer.
2 THE STAR-VIEW LOUNGE
"Welcome," his warm voice announces. "I'm Morris, ardent guide to your
now exciting afterlife. The moment you leave your worldly body your spirit,
desiring to move on, transcends up through the heavenly clouds to us.
“For your viewing pleasure there's the Directory of Worlds listing the
planets and galaxies that you may visit, or choose for your next reincarnation.
Select your parents using our telescopes to zero in on individuals on the worlds
below. Your spirit will be infused into this next life to be lived. Or, you can just
visit the stars for pleasure and exploration.
“Next we have for your information the Spirit Directory. This handy
register lists the present spirit whereabouts of your departed loved ones. You
will discover whether they've been reincarnated into their new lives, or if they
are still on the Earth or on some other world. Then, again, perhaps they've yet
to move from the spots upon which they died. Under water, on a highway, et
cetera. Their spirits may still linger there.
“Some spirits might be found visiting other planets or planes of existence,
or in a suspended spirit animation, or possibly up here in the Star-View Lounge
kibitzing with their fellow spirits. Wherever they are, the Directory will provide
you with their present locations with visitations permitted.
“If you wish to leave a message for another spirit, or for someone on the
planets below, the Psychic Communicators are at your service delivering spirit to
spirit or spirit to body messages through telepathy. A gentle whisper in
someone's ear can work, too.
“Avail yourselves, as well, of the investigative skills of Eyes For You.
Stop by anytime at your convenience between your lifetimes. Report on
cruelties and injustices suffered during your past life for which you want to
know why. Investigations ensue beginning with video playbacks recounting all
aspects and perspectives of the trauma, and concluding, if needed, with the
Almighty justifying these past events to your satisfaction we guarantee.
