Each profilecontainsalist of featuresettingsand a list of authentication units(for example,ActiveDirectorygroups)with which thosesettingsareassociated.Administratorscreateand manage profilesfrom theManagement Console. Improved synchronization statusin thedesktop application Thefilesynchronization statuswindowin thedesktop application nowshows moreinformation about thefilesthat arecurrentlysyncing and alsoliststhe most recent filestofinish being synced. Synchronization ofopen and locked files In release2.0,theHCPAnywhereWindowsdesktop application now attemptstosynchronizefilesthat areopen or otherwisein usebyother applications.HCPAnywheremakesalimited number of attemptsper dayto synchronizeopen files. AdditionalPortalbranding options In release2.0,you nowhavemoreflexibilitywhen applying your organization'sbranding totheUser Portal. Note: The entire User Portal has beenredesignedinversion2.0. As a result, youmay wanttoreevaluate whattextandimages youuse toapply your organization's brandingtothe Portal. Support forSAML,ActiveDirectoryFederation Services,and multi-forest authentication In release2.0,HCPAnywheresupportsusing version 2.0 of theSAML protocol toauthenticateusers from oneor moreSAML identityproviders. HCPAnywherenowsupportsActiveDirectoryFederation Services (AD FS) asaSAML identityprovider.ThisenablesHCPAnywheretogrant file synchronization and sharing accesstousersfrom multipleActiveDirectory forests.Previously,HCPAnywhereallowed usersfrom onlyoneActive Directoryforest. For information on theAD FS versionsthat HCPAnywheresupports,see "Requirements forSAMLauthenticationsupport" on page 11. 3 HCPAnywhere2.0ReleaseNotes ReleasehighlightsforHCPAnywhere2.0 For information on configuring SAML authentication,seetheHCP Anywhere AdministratorHelp. Improved linksharing fromdesktop applications In release2.0,auser can right-clickon afile,select howtoshareit,and the desktop application automaticallycreatesalinkand addsit totheclipboard. Usersnolonger need toopen thePortal tosharealink. Linksharing forfolders In release2.0,userscan nowsharelinkstofolders.When sharing linksto folders,userscan set alinkexpiration date,accesscode,and configure whether thelinkispubliclyaccessible,just astheycan when sharing linksto files. Desktop application folder For newinstallationsof thedesktop application with release2.0,thefolder that containssynchronized filesdoesnot need tobecalled "HCPAnywhere". Userscan specifyanynamefor thisfolder. Increased usersupport HCPAnywhereStandard Pod systemsshipped after release2.0 support up to50,000 filesynchronization and sharing users. VM systemsizing recommendations Thedocument DeployinganHCP Anywhere VMSystemhasbeen updated toincludeinfrastructuresizing recommendationsfor creating HCP AnywhereVM systemsthat support anywherefrom 1 to50,000 users. Previously,sizing recommendationswereprovided onlyfor systems supporting 5,000 or 20,000 users. Support forVMwareDRS and vMotion HCPAnywhereVM systemsnowsupport theVMwareDistributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)and vMotion features. Desktop OS support Thedesktop application nolonger supportsWindowsXP. Audit and Administratorrolesnowseparate In release2.0,an administrator can nowhavetheAudit rolewithout having theAdministrator role.With onlytheAudit role,an administrator can accesstotheManagement Consoletoviewuser filesand activitybut can't makeanychangestothesystem. 4 HCPAnywhere2.0ReleaseNotes ReleasehighlightsforHCPAnywhere2.0 Support formobiledevicemanagement products Hitachi DataSystemscan provideyou with mobileapplicationsthat have been speciallyconfigured for usewith mobiledevicemanagement software.
