The present Guide covers 2*12 Tolls of film of records of Oberkommando des Heeres* The material included in this Guide was filmed in the following OKH sections: H 2^ Oberbefehlshaber des Heeres; H 25» Chef des Generalstabes des Heeres; H 22, Operationsabteilung; H 27, 9 Attache Abteilung; H 35, Sriegsakademie; H 1, Organ!sationsabteilung; E 2, Fremde Heere West; H 3* Fremde Heere Ost* For reference pur- poses the Project has appended a collection of Dienstaltersiisten and Ranglisten of the German Armed Forces, as well as of the Prussian, Bavarian and Austrian armieso The diversity and the richness of the documentation are readily apparent from the descriptions and thus make a brief annalytical introduction both impossible and superfluous. Suffice it to emphasize the fact that this final collection of OKH files con- tributes much source material to the history of the rebirth of the German Army, its role during the Weimar Republic era, the relationship be- tween the Army and the National Socialist Regime and to its role in World War II« The terms "Serial" and "Roll" in this Guide refer to the sequence of film* The "Item11 number is the identification symbol on the original folder within the captured records collection. "Provenance" indicates where ascertainable, the archival origin of the documents s whose description follows. The symbol "FT" means that the folder has been filmed throughout; the symbol nFS" denotes that the folder has been filmed selectively* "1st Frame" gives the frame number of the fisst page of the folder. Every expostcs has been given a frame number consecutively throughout the filming operation* The "Notes" provide a general idea of the nature of the materials but should not be taken as exhaustive descriptions. Apart from a few minor rearrangements folders were filmed in numerical order Although, on the whole subjects 0 t tended to appear coherently and in numerical sequence, it is still necessary to check the whole Guide for any one subject^ Some of the original records have been returned to the Federal Republic of Germany. The remainder are located in the World War II Records Division National Archives Alexandria, Va», under Record Group 1027e The microfilms are deposited in the national Archives,, 9 9 Washington 25, D«C<», as microcopy T-JS, rolls 272(~519» and should be requested by adding "T-7^11 to the rolls desired. The descriptions were prepared by Miss Beate Ruhm von Oppen, Mr* James G» McDowell, Mr. John E* Taslijean, and Dr» Willard Allen Fletcher 0 Willard Allen Fletcher 1« The first part of Roll 278, containing H 49 and H 5! material, is described in Guide 29<> Provenance Item Filmed 1st frame Notes 1 2U6 Reichswehrministeriura, H 2U/1 FT 6225193 Folder of Chef der Heeresleitung, containing G-eheime Akten on Chef der Heeresleitung a variety of subjects including discipline, training (training plan 1927), armament, the withdrawal of the Interallied Military Control (The first part of the Commission and the operation of the Keeres-Friedens-Korrmission and material filmed on Roll questions of discretion.
