ThisbookcontainspeerreviewedpaperspresentedattheInternationalSymposiumonGroundwaterProblems RelatedtoGeo-environmentheldinOkayama,Japan,inMay2003.Thesymposiumwasorganizedtopromote theexchangeofideas,andthelatestdevelopmentsinresearchandpracticeinthefieldsofgeo-environment and groundwater from all over the world. The papers in the book have been grouped into six major themes. These are dewatering at excavation sites, effects of subsurface water on stability of slopes, preservation of natural groundwater flow, contamination of soil and groundwater: investigation, prediction and remediation, fieldsurveyanddeterminationofhydraulicpropertiesandmodelingandanalysisofgroundwaterflow.
