THE GREEN MILE MOVIE VOCABULARY FOR YOU☺☺☺☺ Release Year: 1999 Slogan: «Walk a mile you'll never forget» Country: USA Genres : Thriller, fantasy, drama Runtime: 189 min. Director: Frank Darabont Cast: Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan, James Cromwell About the film. Translate into Russian. Like most of King's work, this is a story of metaphysical fantasy wedded to grim reality. What if a hulking accused child-killer, sentenced to the electric chair, had the power to heal? The convict in question, John Coffey had been found with two dead girls, one in each massive arm; now he has a date with "Old Sparky," the electric chair at the end of the cell block known to its guards as the Green Mile for the color of its floor. After prison guard Paul Edgecombe is cured by John of a urinal infection, he slowly comes to believe that Coffey is innocent. Possessing some supernatural power to heal incurable diseases and injuries, Coffey performs some miracles which make him a friend to prison guards, and punishes the girls’ murderer Bill the Kid along with the loathsome sadist guard Percy. Review: Just when I thought Hollywood was on a slide down into mediocrity, I see a great film like The Green Mile that proves that there are still good movies that come out of Hollywood. Lately, it seems that the good movies are the ones that come from independent studios, but The Green Mile shows that a big budget movie out of the stables of Hollywood can still be a gripping movie and grab a viewers emotions and drain them.
