As a teacher in Grafton for 16 years, Mr. Underwood was well known for his mathematical ability, logical thinking, organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to see the big picture, and understanding, flexibility and patience with his students. Colleagues consulted him for his insight into curriculum issues. The Administration sought his help in balancing the budget, to teach summer school and to tutor students. More than one struggling senior credited Mr. Underwood as the reason they were able to graduate. Mr. Underwood possessed a quick wit, a love of music, and an affinity for forecasting the weather. This led to his demand as an emcee at school events and his frequent weather reports to faculty and staff before major storms. As a life-long resident of Grafton, Mr. Underwood's involvement with GHS began as a Student, and progressed to Teacher, Class Advisor, GTA President, Initial Teacher of VMS, and Advocate for AP Statistics. Mr. Underwood shared his talents to help not only GHS but the entire Grafton community. He was recognized for his ability to connect with fellow Grafton citizens through his tutoring sessions, working on community scholarships, and serving as the DJ at community events. Through his various teaching-related activities, Mr. Underwood touched and influenced countless lives in our Grafton community. 2 A Letter from the Editors Our fellow classmates. Look at where we are! We're finally graduating! All our hard work over the last 12 years has brought us to where are now. As we part ways we wish you all the best, and hope you look back into this yearbook to relive and remember all the great times we spent together as royalty. No matter where we go, we will always be the Kings and Queens of 2017.
