Jia, M. Z. Wang & Y. Liu, a new species of the Glyphomitriaceae from Mt. Jinfoshan, Chongqing, China, is described and illustrated. This species is similar to G. elatum Takaki in being large and having leaves contorted, perichaetial bracts long cuspidate, but differs in being larger and having leaves narrowly lanceolate, perichaetial bracts slightly concave at the base of cusp. Key words Glyphomitrium, Glyphomitrium tortifolium, Glyphomitriaceae, new species, Chongqing, China. In the course of checking the moss specimens at PE, we discovered a collection from Mt. Jinfoshan, Nanchuan County, Chongqing, China, representing a new species. Glyphomitrium tortifolium Y. Jia, M. Z. Wang & Y. Liu, sp. nov. Fig. 1 卷尖高领藓 Species nova affinis G. elato Takaki, a quo differt planta altiore, foliis anguste lanceolatis, bracteis perichaetialibus long cuspidatis concavis ad basem cuspidis. Plants robust, usually forming loose tuft, lightly yellow-brown in upper part, deeply brown in lower part. Stems erect or nearly so, 2.5-3.2 cm long, irregularly branched, densely leaved. Leaves crisped when dry, erect-patent when moist, linear-lanceolate, long acuminate, flexous near apex, oblong at base, margin entire, revolute, 4-6 mm long, ca. 0.8 mm wide at base. Costa stout, reddish brown, nearly percurrent. Laminal cells at median quadrate or rectangular, wall incrassate, 34-124 µm long, 26-51 µm wide; apical leaf cells quadrate or rectangular, 33-124 µm long, 26-51 µm wide; basal leaf cells rectangular, hyaline with the slightly thickened-wall, 50-110 µm long, 5-13 µm wide; alar cells differentiated. Inner perichaetial leaves ovate-oblong, margin entire, strongly sheathing, 3.0-3.3 mm long, 0.8-1.1 mm wide, convolute, long cuspidate, slightly concaved at base of cusp, costa slender. Seta orange, 0.6-0.8 cm long. Capsule erect, cylindric, asymmetric, 1.7-2.3 mm long, 0.8-1.0 mm in diam. Peristome teeth widely lanceolate, hyaline, 170-190 µm long, 60-70 µm wide at base. Operculum obliquely short-rostrate. Spores densely and finely papillose, 16-20 µm in diam. Calyptra not seen. China. Chongqing (重庆): Nanchuan (南川), Mt. Jinfoshan (金佛山), 1942-08-16, H. J.
