He was born on December 27, 1955 in
Puthussery Parish, Thrissur Diocese of Kerala
to Chakkunny Thekkekkkara, a school master
and Celine, in an ordinary farming family.
Francis holds a Diploma in Tool & Die Making
and is currently working in the field of
agriculture. After finding Jesus, he spends more
time for studying the Bible and praying.

Preface

It cannot be forgotten that our society is
still a victim of irreparable misery and pain,
though the achievements of medicine and the
advancement of science have sky-rocketed.
Here I share the convictions gained while seeking
refuge in the Word of God seeking answers to
contemporary problems in this society that has
lost its peace of mind and is in the abyss of
dissatisfaction and despair. With some new es-
says; in this book, I am making an attempt to
share with you my convictions from a clearly
different perspective than some of the essays
in the book ‘Vearitta Chinthakal’ in Malayalam.
Contemporary culture thinks that it is
meaningless and outdated to think that there is
something beyond the natural causes behind the
suffering of many. The real cause of the misery
around us is that our faith is confined only to
rituals, lack of deep-rooted faith, and violation
of God’s commandments.
God has a plan for every human being.
“I know the plans for you that they may be for
your welfare, not evil, but that they may give
you a future of hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). It is
man’s responsibility to complete that plan.

When a man deviates from it, God corrects him.
On this occasion, I recall the life experiences
of two people described in the Scriptures. The
first is that of the Blessed Mother. When the
Holy Mother consented to the will of God, she
was filled with the graces necessary to do the
will of God. Her life was difficult, but she was
able to finish it all happily and receive special
blessings.
Another was Zachariah the priest.
Although he was a righteous man, he did not
believe the angel’s message, so he was deaf
until it came to pass. We can see from this
that a person who succeeds in God’s plans may
have some difficulties in this worldly life, but
God will bless him with the grace he needs to
overcome them. God’s children who do not
do God’s will have to undergo sorrow, misery,
pain, and despair in this worldly life.
The Epistle says that is the calling of a
Christian. “It is a credit to you if, being aware
of God, you endure pain while suffering un-
justly. If you endure when you are beaten for
doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you
endure when you do right and suffer for it,
you have God’s approval. For to this you have
been called, because Christ also suffered for

you, leaving you an example, so that you
should follow in his steps” (1 Peter 2:19-21).
There are some errors in the interpreta-
tion of some of the Word of God that was made
without the help of the Holy Spirit, which
emphasizes the wisdom and understanding of
man. The Scripture, written over 2000 years
ago, contains instruction valid till the end of
the world. But when it comes to new interpre-
tations of what is hidden in it but which must
be revealed from time to time, be prepared to
accept what is acceptable, and reject what is
fake. Scripture says: “I still have many things
to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide
you into all the truth” (John16:12).
When Daniel inquired further as to the
meaning which had not been revealed to him,
he received the reply, not because it was unin-
telligible to him, but because it was secret and
sealed until the end of time. “I heard but could
not understand; so I said, My lord, what shall
be the outcome of these things? He said,Go your
way, Daniel, for the words are to remain secret
and sealed until the time of the end. Many shall
be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the
wicked shall continue to act wickedly. None of
the wicked shall understand, but those who are
wise shall understand”(Daniel 12:8-10)

While discussing, I am not ignoring my
weaknesses or shortcomings. I am sharing my
convictions only because of the seriousness
of the matter. These articles should not be
viewed as an attempt to deny the authenticity
of theological studies. Rather, it is merely
pointing to another possibility, subject to the
Word of God. “Not many of you should become
teachers; my brothers and sisters, for you
know that we who teach will be judged with
greater strictness” (James 3:1). Even though
these words, tried to hold back me from writing
this, the strong inspiration in me succeeded
finally.
In the famous fable of the ‘Naked King,’
all the courtiers knew the fact that the king
was naked, but they were worried about their
future and shunned from disclosing the fact
until an innocent kid shouted out ‘The king is
naked’. I am afraid of that silence and like the
donkey of Prophet Balaam, I am trying to share
my convictions to the readers with support of
God’s Words, not of theology. There is no inten-
tion of causing anybody’s mental anguish
except the desire of all men to be saved and
that no one should suffer the wrath of God.
