Other dx codes that show up: "gender identity disorder" or "transsexualism". ● "Gender identity disorder" was added to the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) in 1980 and replaced with "gender dysphoria" in 2013. ● How many trans people exist? Range is 0.3% to 5% of the population, but we don’t totally know because data collection is insufficient.
