Thenetworkofthefutureisenvisionedasaneffective,intelligent,adaptive,active, andhigh-performanceInternetthatcanenableapplicationsrangingfromsmartcitiesto tsunamimonitoring.Thenetworkofthefuturewillbeanetworkofbillionsortrillions of entities (devices, machines, things, vehicles) communicating seamlessly with one another and is rapidly gaining global attention from academia, industry, and govern- ment. The main aim of the FNSS conference series is to provide a forum that brings together researchers from academia, practitioners from industry, standardization bod- ies, and government to meet and exchange ideas on recent research and future direc- tionsfortheevolutionofthefutureInternet.Thetechnicaldiscussionswerefocusedon the technology, communications, systems, and security aspects of relevance to the network of the future.
