Jim Waterman is called home after his brother’s death. Jim had been working in Europe as a foreign correspondent. He learns his brother’s death was not an accident, and shortly before his brother died, he had divorced his wife of many years. Like all newspapers, his family newspaper, the Spruce Journal, is struggling to stay alive. Jim struggles to learn why his brother might’ve been killed and struggles to keep the family newspaper alive, all while falling in love with Carol Amundson. Jim realizes that if he can’t solve the puzzle of his brother’s death, he will soon be the killer’s next victim. Will Jim succeed?
