These two men drive 100 miles to and from Fisher, five days a week! They bring with them their unique ways of teach- ing. We would like to thank Mr. Smith and Mr. Long for the dedication they show us, both in the classroom and outside. Mr. Smith has taught many of us about the History of Western Civiliza- tion, American Government, Politics, and Economics. Sometimes against our will! fie has also inspired manypeople to pursue careers we may have thought impossible before meeting him. We thank him for this. Mr. Long has taught many of us about Accounting, on many levels. He has offered us a never ending challenge. He tells us we have what it takes to meet any challenge that comes our way. We aregrateful to him for this. Mr. Long and Mr. Smith have made our time at Fisher memorable, inter- esting, and a great learning experience. These two men aregreat friends, to us and to each other. We would like to thank them for all they are, and all they have done for us. We hope many classes to come will have the pleasure ofknowing Mr. David Smith and Mr. Leonard Long! 2 Message President's PresidentFisher with Students CharleneCharles,Amanda Bulger, andLynnLeonard. "Fisher Fever" has spread to every corner of the college. It is on Beacon Street, in the classroom, and in the dorm. It can even be found on New- bury Street, Quincy Market, and now Rome. Once you get it, you may never get rid ofit. Its symptoms are an expanding perspective, personal growth, and a passion for life. Each student arrives at college with hopes and dreams. These hopes and dreams develop and are realized through the variety and quality ofexpe- rience we provide. Whether it be learning in the classroom, feeling the beat of the city or traveling across the Atlantic to Europe, Fisher College students find a variety not available at most institutions. It is the hope of the Trustees, Administration, and Faculty that what you experienced at Fisher College willposition you for success. Good Luck. — As for "Fisher Fever" CATCH IT! Christian Fisher President Vice President's Message Ms. Cantoron thebeautifullibrarystaircase. When you selected Fisher, as your college ofchoice, a wealth ofoppor- tunities wasplaced within your reach. As an all women's college we have developed a curriculum and social setting necessary for Fisher women to become leaders. After your two years of College you have acquired the knowledge needed to succeed in business, or continue your education at a four-year college, or exer- cise your entrepreneurial spirit. You will have also experienced at least one international trip which gives you an advantage in this global world. Fisher Olympics, holiday dances, trips to West Point, our basketball team (Fisher Falcons), bowling, skiing, white water rafting, dormitory decorating contests, special dinners, sweetheart balls, mother/daugh- ter, father/daughter, and family weekends, F.I.R.S.T., and quiet chats with Fisher friends are memories that will linger with you throughout your life, as positive steps in your development as a self-assured, suc- cessful woman. A woman who will be a role model for other women to emulate. Roberta E. Cantor Vice President forAdministration " Dean Message 5 TO THE CLASS OF1994 I've been told by the editors that the theme of the 1994 The Beacon is Fisher Fever. Tm reminded of the story of the man who, when soUcited to contribute to a worthy charitable organization, responded negatively saying that he ''only gives to diseases. To someone my age, "fever"is more often associated with disease than good health. However, I assume that in the eyes of the yearbook editors "fever" at Fisher College has a positive connotation. The College has become livelier each year. I suspect it is mainly due to the increased heterogeneity of the student body. Students coming from different countries, different social classes and races add something vital and exciting to life here. The annual trips abroad through the F.I.R.S.T. program certainly add to the level of anticipation of "good things ahead". Students participate more in college events and happenings. These are positive developments and whether they have truly reached a "fe- verpitch"is less important that the fact that theyare helping to builda sense ofcommunity here at Fisher College. Congratulations to the Class of19941 Rodney Hinkle J. Dean ofthe College
