Description:I love this book. It's thick and wordy and makes me feel smart just holding it. This is a really easy book to read (as textbooks go) and it's certainly a lot easier than finding and reading all the primary literature on fish cognition. I especially enjoyed the chapters on social organisation and Machiavellian intelligence; they were well written and drew some interesting conclusions. It's great that Blackwell Publishing is putting out these really definitive volumes on aquatic animals. I wanted hard copies of both Fish Cognition and Fish Welfare since they'll be my staple reference books for the next few years, so I decided to buy.
