Using an Internet connection, we can save roughly $2,700 a year in entertainment costs and $1,500 in travel expenses andnearly $1,000 on housing and $950 onour grocery bill. Smart Holiday Shoppers It’s no surprise that most people do their research before buying gifts for loved ones. The NPD Group polled shoppers about their holiday spending inten- tionsand determined that 62% planned to do some pre- searching before buying any- thing. Of these people, almost half (49%) plannedto do their research on the Internet.
