問TRODUCTION
百】eoriginal pen and ink drawings by Vietnamese illustrators meant to accompany
the written descriptions of the new taxa of cypri凶dfishes described by NOUYEN & DOAN
(1969) had been completed but were not published simultaneously with the text in July 1969
(ROBERTS，20 07) because the means to reproduce them were not available. Of the original
drawings，on iy those for Daniops nammuensis and Erythroculter pseudobrevicauda macrop-
thalmus are missing. Thed rawings 'ereproduced here for the first time for Laichowcypris

dai (type species of the genus Laichowcypris)，Ni cholsicypris dorsohorizontalis，Pa radaniops
macropterus (type species of Paradaniops)，Cr ossocheilus namlenensis，Li ssochilus longibar-
bis，L. brevispinus，L. laocaiensis，G arra laichowensis，Pu ntius takhoaensis，V aricorhinus
argentatus，V. erythrogenys，V. microstomus，O nychostoma brevicephalus，O . microcorpus，
dHemibarbus longianalis. These taxa should be attributed to Nguyen and Doan，1 969.

The figures訂epresented in the same order and with the same numbering as in出eoriginal
paper by NOUYEN & DOAN (1969) and in the translation in白epaper preceding血isone by
Nguyen Van Canh (NOUYEN，20 07).
Thed rawings are more helpful in identi行ingthe species than the text part of the original
descriptions. Whenever the spec出lensdrawn have been found and identified as such白eyhave
been designated as lectotypes for the nominal species in the paper after出isone (ROBERTS
& CATANIA，20 07).
