In 1975 he was asked by the Naradowe Museun of Cracovia in Poland for an oil painting and a watercolor painting by his wife – these works are located in permanency at the aisle dedicated to foreign art. From 1987 up to 1998, upon request of the Municipality of Milan, he taught drawing and oil painting in the lecture rooms of the subway Lambrate. After his wife’s death in 1995, he dedicated himself entirely to improve his watercolor technique while maintaining his activity as a teacher at the Center “Fai da te” in Milano and in the head office of CRAL in Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele in Milan Municipality. From 1995 up to 1999 he made a series of didactic books titled “Becoming Artists” describing various painting techniques: oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel. These books were published by Fabbri Editori and are still distributed in art color stores. From 2003 up to 2009, he held courses in watercolor and drawing and oil at the Cultural Center “Accademia del tempo libero” at the Istituto Gonzaga in Milan. In 2010 he was invited in Fabriano at first edition of “Marche d’Acqua” and “FabrianoInAcquarello”, there he started a friendly deep relation with the Fabriano art community and contributed with much effort to grow watercolor local and international culture. In 2011 he was invited by the City of Fabriano to present a watercolor solo exhibit in the “Museo della carta e della filigrana di Fabriano”. In 2014 FabrianoInAcquarello edition Aurelio presented “Tinte Unite” the book on Aurelio Pedrazzini and Anna Pavesi professional artistic biography. Aurelio Pedrazzini with a sweet but strong personality, a firm consideration for traditional watercolor technique on paper and a deep respect for any Art development and any Artist in the world, was for Fabriano major referent point. FabrianoInAcquarello 2018 is therefore dedicated to his Art and friendship, in the hope that the many Artists who met him in past edition will join Fabriano and Aurelio’s family in the effort to tribute him the greeting he deserves. | 2 | FabrianoInAcquarello 2018 FabrianoInAcquarello 2018 A volte abbiamo bisogno di vedere la nostra città con gli occhi di uno Sometimes we need to see our city through the eyes of a “ foreigner”. “straniero”. To be coherent with our philosophy we tried our best to make a more open aggregation than any other watercolor meeting had precedently had. FabrianoInAcquarello was born in conjunction and to support the “Marche d’Acqua In the years we understood our convention was becaming the base for development Prize” held in Fabriano every two years, the meeting is however organized with the format of a wide community. Dear Artist, never forget that life blessed us with the big gift of beeing artist. | 5 | I believe this is the new topic to focus on for next FabrianoInAcquarello future frontiere. To better explain what I mean I will use the incrdible poem of the greek poet Konstantin Kavafis “Ithaca” that I love so much. The long journey, legendary Ulysses did to reach the island of Ithaca, is the allegory of any important matter which every man makes through life. Ithaca symbolizes the reason and at the same time the goal of the long journey, Ulysses and Ithaca are in complete symbiosis. We are Ulysses and ITHACA is ART “...When you leave for Ithaca, may your journey be long and full of adventures and knowledge. Do not be afraid of Laestrigones, Cyclopes or furious Poseidon; you won’t come across them on your way if you don’t carry them in your soul, if your soul does not put them in front of your steps. I hope your road is long. May there be many a summer morning, and may ports for the first time seen bring you great joy. May you stop at Phoenician marts, to purchase there the best of wares, mother-of-pearl and coral, amber, ebony, hedonic perfumes of all sorts; may you go to various Egyptian towns and learn from a people with so much to teach. Don’t lose sight of Ithaca, for that’s your destination. But take your time; better that the journey lasts many a year and that your boat only drops anchor on the island when you have grown rich with what you learned on the way. Don’t expect Ithaca to give you many riches. Ithaca has already given you a fine voyage; without Ithaca you would never have parted. Ithaca gave you everything and can give you no more. If in the end you think that Ithaca is poor, don’t think that she has cheated you. Because you have grown wise and lived an intense life, and that’s the meaning of Ithaca.” Art gave you everything and can give you no more. If in the end you think that Art is poor, don’t think that she has cheated you. Because you have grown wise and lived an intense life, and that’s the meaning of Art.” This is the meaning of ART InArte / Anna Massinissa FabrianoInAcquarello founders and curators | 6 | FabrianoInAcquarello from 2017 is The International Watercolor Museum Even if it is only a statup it is the first Museum completely dedicated to the contemporary international watercolor and it is located in Fabriano, Italy, the place where this pictorial technique matches up with the paper making tradition, which is the main local excellence since the thirteenth century. For over a decade this City in the Marche region hinterland has organized many international events dedicated to the world of water painting and has hosted a large number of contemporary artists and masters, who now acknowledge this territory as the potential capital of Aquarello. The Museum was thus born as a testimony to an artistic experience of international relations and aesthetic reciprocity, by applying Relational Art to events in which masters and artists share projects and experiences, apply the technique and overwhelm it, giving the painting the role of interpretative language to better connect every culture. The Municipal Administration, together with the InArte team, who has handled the project, placed the museum in the prestigious location of the Bishop’s Palace, one of the historic buildings overlooking the famous Piazza del Comune. The exhibition halls host a collection of over 750 artworks. A very interesting collection with traditional watercolor together with innovative paintings and also pictorial applications from international schools, a collection that will grow in the future thanks to new collaborations with other countries around the world. The museum aims to be the container of the works that bear witness to the art of contemporary watercolor, but also a place of activity through temporary exhibitions, many workshops, technique demostrations, conferences for the Waterpaint world, so that it might achieve the right artistic visibility and grow in technique and contamination towards a future that will hopefully be less traditional, very interesting and, finally, innovative. The Collection of the “International Watercolor Museum” is the trace road that the international contemporary watercolor artists, along with the major masters in the world, have drawn in the past years of watercolor performances in our city. Since 2006 Fabriano has welcome hundreds of artists from all continents. They first came to trace the roots of the artistic paper manufactury, then have discovered and painted the beauty of the places in the international language of Art. The “Museum” is therefore a starting point, since it is intended to be a place that can welcome future watercolorists and reap future tracks. The “Museum” is dedicated to all the masters and contemporary artists, fans, visitors - to all those who appreciate the transparency of the natural pigment traced on paper. It is unique in the world and celebrates the whole world , in the hope that painting, in its unique and international language with no barriers, will be the seed of knowledge, reciprocity and peace. www.internationalwatercolormuseum.com | 7 | Italy Leader: Giovanni Balzarani, Angelo Gorlini, Massimiliano Iocco, Anna Massinissa, Gabriele Mazzara Community Representative: Igor Sava Emanuela Albertella Grazia Coccolini Nicola Lecca Natus Rodriguez Tajan Giovanna Alotti Luciano Colucci Marina Legovini Giovanni Marco Sassu Roberto Andreoli Elia Cosimi Leonardo Locchi Elisabetta Semeria Igli Arapi Domenico Di Meco Pierantonio Lorini Davide Siddi Alessandra Arecco Vali Kura Dimroci Donatella Luciani Angela Simula Lucia Aresi Fausta d’Ubaldo Sergio Macchioli Francesca Sisti Nadia Belardi Fausto Duca Federica Maffezzoni Tatiana Smirnova Marianne Bevilacqua Simonetta Enei Lorena Massa Andrea Sole Costa Luigina Bo Gianni Fabbri Alessandra Menicucci Maria Nives Stocco Sonia Bomben Felice Feltracco Luigi Meregalli Fausto Sutera Elena Brazzale Christian Flores Saavvedra Antonella Michelini Silvano Tacus Claudio Castiglioni Tito Fornasiero Maria Luisa Montanari Paolo Tagliasacchi Anna Castiglioni Fernanda Freddo Gabriella Morbin Ida Tentolini Roberta Catanzano Vittoria Galotto Fabrizio Musa Pietro Tracca Carmine Cerbone Luisa Gibellini Luigi Onofri Giuseppina Vecchi Elio Cerchiara Angelo Gilardoni Pier Luigi Orlandi Lucia Zamburlini Simonetta Chierici Elena Grablevskaia Pozzi Ferruccio Pagani Roberto Zangarelli Veronica Ciabattoni Daniela Grignani Rosella Passeri Sonia Zolfanelli Massimo Ciavarella Vladimir Khasiev Rosalba Perucchini Raffaele Ciccaleni Uttam Kumar Karmaker Davide Mario Platania Luigi Cioli Rita La Monica Tiziana Presti | 9 | Giovanni Angelo Gorlini Massimiliano Balzarani Italy Iocco Italy Italy ricerca del mio invisibile, Velvet Banana Shoe dell’impossibile opera Wet Luchan - China 38x56 cm nr33 38x56 cm 61x41 cm | 10 |
