NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th January, 1999
S. O. 4(E).—Whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that in exercise
of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Dock Workers
(Regulation of Employment) Act. 1948 (9 of 1948) the Calcutta Chipping and
Painting Workers (Regulation of Employment) Scheme, 1970 should be revoked.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 4 of the Dock Workers (Regulation of Employment) Act, 1948 (9 of
1948). the Central Government hereby publishes the following proposal for the
information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given
that the said proposal will be taken into consideration by the Central Government
on or after the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date on which the
copies of the Gazette of India in which this Notification is published, are made
available to the public:

Objection or suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Secretary,
Ministry of Surface Transport Parivahan Bhavan Sansad Marg, New Delhi 110
001.
The objections or suggestions which may be received from any person
with respect to the said draft proposal will be considered by the Central
Government
PROPOSAL
The Calcutta Chipping and Painting Workers (Regulation of Employment)
Scheme, 1970 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-Section (ii) vide No.SO 1986 dated 2nd June, 1970 is hereby revoked.
